iPad has Wi-Fi problems

Surprise surprise!! Just as I suspected Apple is having problems with a new release. It's always the loyal fan boys who go out and buy something right away that end up with the bugs and get stuck with a defective unit. Almost immediately after an initial release a new version of something is released that is better. You should always wait to buy something.

This article talks about how many users are having problems with the Wi-Fi in the initial release of the Wi-Fi only iPad. It's not just beginners having issues either, technology experts who write blogs on different technologies are having problems with it as well. On Apple's support website there were 11 pages of comments last Tuesday morning on a post saying Wi-Fi connections were weak or kept cutting out.

Apples answer to this? "Apple posted a Web page outlining troubleshooting tips for "occasional problems" that included weak Wi-Fi connections or not being able to find a signal. The tips include moving closer to a Wi-Fi router or hot spot and making sure the Wi-Fi router is plugged in and the power is turned on. The Web page also suggests checking for sources of possible interference, like a microwave oven, and making sure you're connected to the correct Wi-Fi connection if multiple ones are available." So if their technology fails then they treat us like idiots and say make sure the router is plugged in and turned on? Get real...

  1. LOL I'm with you John. However, Apple did release a patch to fix the issue only a few days after the problem was investigated. This is a far cry from what microsoft or any other company for that matter does with it's products. I'm still able to download security patches for my Windows XP machine. When did that come out...2000? Needless to say that I applaud Apple for having a much more rigorous quality testing of it's products than most others and owning up to bugs and getting them taken care of quickly.

  3. Yes I agree with LaToya on the note that there is really not a need of it. I think it is nothing more than a WANT. And thats what Marketing people try to do with every product , project it as a need but it is really just WANT. And most of the products we use is generally a want than a need to have it.

  4. I agree with Aman that this is just a want. Everyday there is a new product that seems to be obsolete in a couple of years. Some people buy the latest thing just to keep up with the trends. I think that people are going to have information overload eventually.

  5. I also agree with Aman. I think that Apple was just trying to look for a way to exploit the previous frenzy for the iPhone. Now it's dying down so they load up similar software to a tablet, give it a new name, and voila! Let the new sales frenzy begin.

  6. Well what ever Apple is doing, it's working. The only way to stop such practices will be for consumers to not buy the products. I mean Apple is a business, which means at the end of the day they want to make money. And right now they are making boatloads of it and their share price is at an all time high. So I'm definitely not mad at them.
