Google Sidewiki

so I am browsing through PCWorld news and I am stopped by an article about Google's new Sidewiki. It is a feature that is available for your toolbar in internet explorer and Firefox. This newest tool allows you to post comments about any page that you visit and also lets you see what others using Sidewiki have to say. I actually downloaded the tool just to check it out and its actually pretty cool. All you have to do is go to any website and click the Sidewiki box in the toolbar and it will open a sidebar showing comments and an option to write and entry.


Google also implemented a feature to filter out spam or other comments that may not be relevant to the content of the site you are visiting by using a "quality algorithm". It also allows users to vote on comments and how useful they are and ranks them accordingly. It also gives you the ability to share comments through email, Facebook, Twitter, or Web link. The one catch that Google ha is that you do have to have a Google account, which many people already have.
