New Charging Station for all your gadgets!

I came across a new tech item that can make all our lives easier. Now days, just about everyone has some type of mobile device, ipod, palm pilot or such. All your gadets has its own charge cords and it can be a pain just to keep up with them. Well
power mats has solved that issue.

Each Powermat can charge three gadgets at once. There are magnets that holds your device in place. When you place an item on the powermat it shows a white light and a bell sound to let you know it is properly connected. A opposite noise tells you when the connection is broken.

Powermat uses induction to charge your electronics. When you drop a Powermat enabled device on the mat, the two exchange a radio-frequency identification technology. The mat identifies the device, determines how much power it needs, then starts transferring energy to it. Once a device is fully charged, Powermat will stop the electricity from flowing.

The Power mat comes with a white cube that sports a usb connector like the kind that goes into BlackBerrys and numerous other phones and eight different tips that fit the charging port on an iphone, ipod, psp you name!!! Once you connect your gadget to the cube with the appropriate tip, you place the cube onto the mat to start charging.

This definitely will be on my Holiday wish. You can purchase the power mat for $100 bucks at Best Buy

  1. HMMMM, that's really interesting. Whoever thought of that musta thought real hard. Question, where does the mat get the power from? Do you have to charge it or something?

  2. That is funny that you post this, because I have seen already the commercials about it. Actually the very first device that works on the same principle came out 6-7 months ago, or more in particular with the new Pal Pre who has a KeyStone. Those guys may have stolen the idea from Palm.

  5. That thing looks sweet! At first I thought you were going to say that it was solar-powered or something along those lines, but plugging it in is still way better than plugging in each device individually. I wish it would work without having to put the custom case onto my iPhone, because then for people who already have cases and such on their gear, have to either take it off to put the charge receiver on or they have to use the white box that comes with it, which means plugging it in still...kind defeating the purpose of WIRELESS if you ask me. Still a neat idea though, no doubt!

  7. This is a great idea, to have your devices be freed from the tether of their proprietary charging cable is a big plus when deciding to purchase this
